For the project “Zondvloed nu” (“The great flood”) me and 8 other young photographers were asked to visualize our thoughts about the story of Noah and the flood. For this project my goal was to show a world with (almost) no human life left. The amount of legacy that we leave behind is immense. I travel a lot by car through the Netherlands and am often struck by the amount of changes we make to our environment. In Man-made | Landscape I want to show the contrast between our “man-made” landscape, and landscape that is hardly affected by man. I enjoyed photographing infrastructure without signs of human life. Therefore i decided to continue the series after the project. The first two images were part of the “Zondvloed Nu” project.
